Present over 60 million VND to creative projects at the Science and Technology competition for high school students
10-12 December, 2019: The Science and Technology competition for the Khanh Hoa high school students of the AY 2019-2020 was held by Department of Education and Training of Khanh Hoa province and Nha Trang University. At the closing ceremony, Nha Trang University awarded to 230 competitors to encourage creative spirits for science among the high school students.
The jury board chose 67 out of 141 projects to give the prizes, including four for the first prize, 14 for the second prize, 21 for the third prize and 28 for the consolation prize. The projects got the first prize include: Extract calcium from tuna bones (Nguyen Van Troi high school, Nha Trang city); Water dispenser processing model from air (Nguyen Chi Thanh high school, Ninh Hoa town); Supporting equiment to rescue traffic accidents (iSchool Nha Trang); Speed humps to create electricity (Le Quy Don high school for the gifted, Nha Trang). Among above first prizes, two outstanding projects from Nguyen Van Troi high school and iSchool Nha Trang are nominated to take part in the national competition held by the Ministry of Education and Training at Da Nang city in March 2020.
At the closing ceremony, Nha Trang University presented over 60 million VND to 230 competitors, each first prize is worth 1,000,000 VND.
Taking place at Nha Trang University, the competition attracted lots of students, lecturers in the Khanh Hoa province to attend, exchange, creating a meaningful playground in the field of the science of engineering. It was an opportunity for the high school students to visit and learn about the infrastructure and training activities at Nha Trang University.
The Science and Technology competition for the high school students of Khanh Hoa province of the AY 2019-2020 attracted the participation of 35 units, including 27 high schools, 8 offices of education and training. There were 141 projects for competition belonging to 14 fields: biochemistry, chemistry, social science and behaviour, mechanical engineering, biomedical and healthcare science, physics and astronomy, systematic software, robot and smart machine... The competiton was successfully held by the Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training in combination with Nha Trang University. The competition achieved goals to stimulate the high school students to do research and to be creative in the field of science and technology, apply learnt knowledge to solve the practical problems, helping form capacity for students. The competition also gave the students a chance to introduce their scientific results.
