Cooperation seminar with the Institute of Marine Science - Gulf of Tonkin University (China)

An online seminar was organized on June 16, 2023, by the Institute of Aquaculture of Nha Trang University and the Institute of Marine Science of Gulf of Tonkin University (China) with the purpose of establishing a cooperation agreement between the two institutes. The cooperation program will begin in 2023 and be extended every three years to allow for the evaluation of partnership progress.

 

Participating in the seminar, on the side of the Institute of Marine Science - Gulf of Tonkin University, there was Dr. Ly Tan Chinh - Director, Prof. Dr. Quan Kiet Dieu - Deputy Director (chaired the seminar), and other officials and lecturers of the Institute. On the side of the Institute of Aquaculture - Nha Trang University, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Minh Hoang - Director, Dr. Nguyen Tan Sy - Vice President, along with officials and lecturers of the Institute.

 

At the seminar, the two parties discussed their areas of expertise in teaching and scientific research, as well as their ability to contribute to the cooperation agreement. Following that, the two parties exchanged and discussed cooperation topics. Following the agreement, specific areas of cooperation were established, including training, scientific research, undergraduate and graduate student exchange programs, and the exchange of lecturers for educational and research purposes between the two institutes.

After signing a cooperation agreement in 2023, Marine Academy - Gulf of Tonkin University will provide financial support to carry out activities such as:

  1. 03 full-ride scholarships for first-year Aquaculture students.
  2. 03 full-ride scholarships for students of the Master program in Aquaculture.
  3. Shrimp farming research project: cooperatively implemented at Nha Trang University.
  4. A group of 3-5 students from the Faculty of Marine Science - Gulf of Tonkin University will be sent to Nha Trang University to intern for 3 - 5 months.
  5. In 2023, the two parties will exchange 03 lecturers.
  6. Both parties will form a delegation to visit one other's facilities and engage in academic exchange.

 

Furthermore, other cooperation activities will be discussed and agreed upon by the two parties based on specific contents and requirements.
