Graduation Ceremony English Access Microscholarship programme 2020 – 2022
On December 1, 2022, the graduation ceremony of the English Access Microscholarship program 2020-2022 class was held at Nha Trang University.
Attending the ceremony, on the side of the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, there was Ms. Natella Svistunova – Cultural Attaché, and representatives of related units. There was Dr. Tran Doan Hung - Vice-Rector of the University and representatives of related units on the side of Nha Trang University. In particular, the ceremony also had the participation of representatives of schools whose students enrolled in the Access program, students' parents, and students participating in the 2020-2022 course.
At the ceremony, leaders of Nha Trang University and representatives of the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City awarded certificates of completion of the study program to 50 students of the Access English class for the 2020-2022 course which took place during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, with the creativity and efforts of the teaching staff and the passion of the students, the course was still implemented effectively with quality assurance. The Access program helps children learn English for free for 2 years, equipped with English books and reference materials in accordance with the standards required by the Ho Chi Minh city US Consulate General. Students of the program studied communication methods combined with training in soft, teamwork, and presentation skills, etc. through interesting and rewarding activities. In addition, they also participated in local extracurricular activities and had the opportunity to be prioritized when applying for US Government scholarship programs.
The English Access Microsholarship Program is a global scholarship program funded by the US Department of State, started in 2004. The purpose of the program is to equip students with a solid English language background for future careers and provide the opportunity to further study, be able to participate, and compete for opportunities to work and study in the US. In Khanh Hoa province, the program is jointly implemented by Nha Trang University and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
