Nanning Normal University and Guangxi University for Nationalities (China) Cordially Welcome Nha Trang University Delegation to Foster Collaboration and Expand Partnership Opportunities

On May 26th, 2025, at the invitation of Nanning Normal University (China), a delegation from Nha Trang University, led by Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung – Vice Rector, paid a visit to aim at actualizing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two institutions in 2024. 

Within the framework of the visit, both institutions convened a series of in-depth working sessions and reached a consensus on the implementation of several concrete collaborative initiatives. Noteworthy among these are:

The 3+1 academic model: students will complete the first three years of their studies at Nha Trang University and the final year at Nanning Normal University;

The 2+2 academic model: students will spend two years studying Chinese language in Vietnam, and pursue their majors for two years in China.

Additionally, both institutions agreed to exchange faculty and students, as well as organize international summer camps. Nanning Normal University has formally committed to dispatching students majoring in Vietnamese to undertake internships in Nha Trang. Students from both institutions will engage in summer camps and short-term exchange programs, designed to foster linguistic proficiency and deepen cross-cultural understanding.

Preeminently, the 3+1 academic model is scheduled to commence student admissions in September 2025, while the 2+2 academic model is set to be launched in the near future. Additionally, the delegation toured the modern facilities of Nanning Normal University, laying the groundwork for expanded opportunities in research collaboration and academic exchange moving forward.

On the same day, the delegation from Nha Trang University conducted a working session with Guangxi University for Nationalities to explore potential areas of collaboration in academic training and scientific research. Both sides identified numerous shared priorities in their development strategies, particularly in the following fields: language education - namely, the teaching of Chinese to Nha Trang students and Vietnamese to Guangxi students; tourism, biotechnology, environmental science, and marine-related disciplines, which represent key strengths of both institutions. The two universities also discussed faculty and student exchanges, as well as the joint organization of academic conferences. A mutual agreement was reached to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), serving as the foundation for a formal partnership within a proximate timeframe.

The official mission marked a pivotal advancement in the collaborative relationship between Nha Trang University and its two partner institutions in China, significantly contributing to the internationalisation of education. Additionally, it served to expand academic and research opportunities for students, foster intercultural exchange, and enhance the quality of education through structured mobility programs. Moreover, the visit laid a strategic foundation for future joint research initiatives, particularly in the areas of marine science, environmental studies, and technology.

With concrete cooperation agreements now established, Nha Trang University aspires to further broaden its international partnership network and strengthen its academic presence both regionally and globally.
