Students of Nha Trang University participate in cleaning up the beach of Hon Mun
In response to World Biodiversity Day (May 22), and World Environment Day (June 5), the Institute of Biotechnology and Environment - Nha Trang University and Nha Trang Bay Management Board organized a practical experience at Hon Mun Marine Protected Area with the theme "Protecting the Sea and Environment".
The students were introduced by the Management Board of Nha Trang Bay to the history and goals of establishing a marine protected area; geographical location and biodiversity values of Nha Trang Bay; priority activities and prohibited conduct in the strictly protected subdivision; beach plastic waste monitoring program; main activities and achievements… of Nha Trang Bay Management Board. After that, the students, lecturers, and staff of the two units collected plastic waste around the island area and observed marine life with a glass-bottom boat, thereby helping the students gain practical knowledge. for use in learning and research.

With the desire to join hands in developing environmental protection activities, in addition to encouraging and creating conditions for students to participate in these practical activities, Nha Trang University also regularly organizes a Green Environment contest for students. target high school students. After being successfully held 3 consecutive times, the Green Environment contest was officially launched for the 4th time with the theme "Water is life". The 2022 Green Environment Competition is expected to take place from April 2022 to July 2022, jointly organized by Nha Trang University and the Departments of Education and Training of the provinces of Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, and Dak Lak. Participants in the contest are students in grades 10, 11, and 12 from all high schools in Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan, and Dak Lak provinces. The contest is organized to propagate, raising students' awareness and knowledge about environmental fields, and gradually changing actions for the environment. This is also a healthy and useful playground for students of all ages, helping them to come up with ideas and implement activities towards environmental protection creatively and effectively.
