China-ASEAN Partnership Forum on Sustainable Development of Fisheries and Marine Economy

On October 24-25, 2025, in Qingdao City, China, the China-ASEAN Partnership Forum on Sustainable Development of Fisheries and Marine Economy took place. The Forum was attended by leaders from leading universities and research institutes in ASEAN, especially those with specialized training in Fisheries and Marine Economy. The Forum's goal is to promote cooperation in the fields of fisheries, sustainable aquaculture, and green economy between China and ASEAN countries.

Representing Nha Trang University, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quoc Hung, Vice Rector of the University participated and contributed his opinions at the Forum. The Forum's key topics included: challenges to fisheries in the ASEAN region, cooperation directions between China and ASEAN countries to promote sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, strategies to mitigate the impact of climate change on fisheries, and the role of international partners in supporting sustainable development of the ASEAN fisheries sector.

Nha Trang University has become a member of the ASEAN-Fisheries Education Network since 2015. Over the years, the University has actively participated in the activities of the network, constantly striving to improve the quality of training, scientific research, and international publications in the field of fisheries. In particular, in 2022, the University successfully organized the 10th Annual International Conference on Fisheries (IFS 2022), which was recognized and highly appreciated by the network.
