February 29, 2016: The ceremony took place at Nha Trang University with attendance of the representatives of five universities – five members of ILP (Kagoshima University, Japan; Sam Ratulangi University, Indonesia, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia; University of the Visayas, The Phlippines; Kasetsart University, Thailand).
At the ceremony, after the opening speech made by the Rector of Nha Trang University, the Chairman of ILP – Professor Matsuoka (Kagoshima University, Japan) gave a brief introduction of the international linkage programme on tropical fisheries and the operation goals such as promoting cooperation on training and research, students and lecturers exchange, building alliance international program and recognizing programs of members.
Nha Trang University is the sixth member of the ILP. This joining brings benefits to Nha Trang University, opens up directions of cooperation on training and student exchange opportunity.
On this occasion, Nha Trang University signed an MoU with Kagoshima University from Japan. The MoU focuses on academic exchange such as exchange of teaching and research personnel, academic publication and information, collaboration in research projects, especially student exchange between the two universities. According to this memorandum, each year, there are maximum three students of Nha Trang University can go to study in Kagoshima University in 12 months with some kinds of fees and normal tuition exemption.
Previously, in the meeting of the ILP Management Council in December, 2015, all members agreed to admit Nha Trang University and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand as the two new members of the network.
