More than 400 delegates attended the 10th International Fisheries Symposium – IFS 2022 at Nha Trang University
On December 5, 2022, the 10th International Fisheries Symposium - IFS 2022 was held at Nha Trang University with the participation of over 400 delegates from around the world. The symposium was held within the framework of ASEAN FEN activities (The network of Southeast Asia Fisheries Education Network).
Delegates attending the symposium came from management agencies and enterprises operating in the field of fisheries, universities, domestic and international research institutes. On the side of Nha Trang University, there were the attendance of Dr. Khong Trung Thang – Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trang Si Trung – Rector of the University; Vice Rectors include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung and Dr. Tran Doan Hung and representatives of related units.
The symposium lasted three days, from December 5th to December 7th, 2022. Under the main theme of "Adapt to Changes", the symposium comprised over 300 scientific research, more than 200 of which were presented live and more than 100 in poster format. The studies were organized into seven specialized sections that cover practically all aspects of fisheries research, including biotechnology, farming techniques, breeder production, nutrition, genetics, health management, exploitation, and processing. Among the notable papers are: Realizing Vietnam's fisheries development strategy to 2030, with a long-term vision of 2045; Recovery and application of value-added products from shrimp heads and shells; Biostimulant technologies, biostimulants for agriculture, aquaculture, and human health, etc.
As part of the symposium, experts and scientists participated in aquaculture field trips to freshwater fish farms such as sturgeon and salmon farms, eel farms and hatcheries, and marine fish farms.
The 10th International Fisheries Symposium - IFS 2022 - was organized with the purpose of sharing the latest information and showcasing the most exceptional accomplishments in scientific research in fisheries and aquaculture of member countries to the international scientific community. At the same time, the symposium is also a chance for scientists and students to present their research findings.
