Nha Trang University participates in activities of the Project "Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Ecotourism to support sustainable development in Vietnam and the Philippines - ECOVIP" in Portugal.
From January 22 to 26, 2024, the working group of Nha Trang University including 3 officials and lecturers participated in the activities of the Project "Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Ecotourism to support sustainable development in Vietnam and the Philippines – ECOVIP” at Portucalense University, Portugal with domestic and foreign partners (Can Tho University; University of Sciences - Thai Nguyen University; San Carlos University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines; Lyceum University of the Philippines; FH Joanneum University, Austria; Alicante University, Spain).
The working program of the ECOVIP Project in Portugal lasts 5 days with three main contents: Training on Sustainable Development and Ecotourism (training); an Actual visit to eco-tourism models (study visit) and a Project management meeting (meeting).
For training activities: participants learned basic content about ecotourism such as: Analyzing the challenges and prospects of ecotourism, Designing experiences in this type of tourism, Analyzing policies on ecotourism environment and entrepreneurship in the tourism sector. Through this training, the Project hopes to improve understanding of the principles of ecotourism and sustainable development and interact with experts to grasp opportunities and challenges for stakeholders.
For practical sightseeing activities: delegates visited eco-tourism models at the Nature Reserve and visited a traditional Portuguese salt farming village. These are conservation and production and business locations combined with environmentally friendly tourism development. Through practical sessions, delegates have the opportunity to exchange, interact and experience practical activities on typical ecotourism in the city of Porto, Portugal.
For project meeting activities: NT University, in its capacity as project coordinator, chaired meetings to review the progress of the work package and estimate the schedule of activities in the coming time, especially activities related to online training courses, startup competitions and programs for the next training session in Can Tho city, Vietnam.
In addition to the Project's activities, on the occasion of the nation's traditional Tet, Vietnamese partners also organized an exchange activity to introduce Vietnamese Tet culture through typical Vietnamese products on Tet, give lucky money envelopes to introduce foreign partners to know more about the unique traditional culture of Vietnamese people.
