Nha Trang University participates in launching the EMSIV project

During two days March 12-13, 2024, Nha Trang University participated in launching the Empowerment of Ethnic Minority Students in Vietnam - EMSIV project in Bologna City, Italy.

The delegation representing Nha Trang University participating in the EMSIV Project kick-off meeting included: Dr. Khong Trung Thang - Chairman of the School Council; Associate Professor, PhD. Pham Quoc Hung - Vice Rector; Associate Professor, Ph.D. Nguyen The Han - Head of the International Cooperation Department.

Participating in the EMSIV Project, the European side has partners: Italian Inter-University Association (Alma Laurea), Insubria University (Italy), Porto Polytechnic University (Portugal); The Vietnamese side has partners: Hanoi University, Thai Nguyen University, Nha Trang University, Tay Nguyen University, Management Board of Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones; Center for Research and Development of Agriculture and Forestry in mountainous areas.

After two days of work, Project members clearly understood the project's objectives, operational plans, and financial regulations, Project quality management, discussed and approved the content of the survey questionnaire for ethnic minority students about their employment capacity and the difficulties they encounter in the process of finding a job.

The EMSIV project is implemented with funding from the European Commission (EU) through the Erasmus+ program with a total budget of about 400,000 EUR, to equip ethnic minority students with knowledge and skills to integrate the labor market, while promoting the commitment of employers, policy-making agencies, and training institutions to raise awareness of stakeholders to bring more job opportunities for ethnic minority students.

The specific objectives of the Project are to assess labor market needs for ethnic minority students; to evaluate the employment situation of ethnic minority students after graduation; to share EU knowledge and methods on support for ethnic minority students to better integrate into the labor market; to increase ethnic minority students' knowledge of job search tools; to increase awareness of Vietnamese policymakers and businesses about the needs of ethnic minority students; to build a regular dialogue network among all Vietnamese stakeholders on improving the employability of ethnic minority students.

On behalf of the University's leaders, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quoc Hung said that Nha Trang University, as a member, has experience in implementing many international cooperation projects, including several projects under the Erasmus+ program with European partners, confident to be an active member and effective contributor to the EMSIV project. Nha Trang University commits to investing resources to complete the goals of the Project.
