NTU was established in 1959 in Northern Vietnam as a faculty of Institute of Agriculture and Forestry. In 1976, it moved to Nha Trang and changed its name to University of Fisheries in 1981. In 2006, the University was renamed to Nha Trang University. After 54 years, NTU has 17 faculties, research institutions and 4 centers for applying research and services. NTU has become a multi-discipline institution and played a key role in training human resources for the South Central Area of Viet Nam.
