Signing cooperation agreement with Vietnam Food Joint Stock Company

 

 

The signing ceremony between Nha Trang University (NTU) and Vietnam Food Joint Stock Company (Vinafood - VNF) was held on February 2nd, 2016. Assoc.Prof. Trang Si Trung – Rector of NTU and Mrs. Le Thuy Huong - Chairman of VNF’s Board of Directors and other representatives attended the ceremony.

According to the agreement, the two parties agreed to focus on researching seafood by-products processing technology, training and providing human resources, developing laboratory analysis outsourcing services to in order to exploit the capacity and promote the strength of each party. Within the framework of cooperation, the company will yearly grant 10 scholarships (3 million VND/ each scholarship) for NTU’s students who are in poverty but study well for five years.

Vietnam Food Joint Stock Company is one of the most modern and biggest manufacturers in Vietnam on protein products extracted from seafood. The company has plants in Ca Mau (produce protein liquid, protein powder, chitin from shell of shrimp head) and Hau Giang, with a capacity of 40,000 tons of raw material per year. The entire production process is built professionally according to the standard of pharmaceutical manufacturers. VNF also manufactures, researches and develops products serving food and biopharmaceutical industry. VNF is a member of NUTTRACEUTICALS Vietnam (VNN) specializing in producing pharmaceuticals, functional foods and high protein foods.

The cooperation with VNF will contribute to exploit and develop the traditional strengths of NTU- the leading university in the field of fisheries in Vietnam.
