Welcoming the delegation of the US Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam
March 24, 2022: The delegation of the US Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam paid a visit to Nha Trang University.
The delegation of the US Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam included Ms. Monica Damberg-Ott - Cultural Attaché, Mr. Jerrold Frank - Director of the Regional English Language Office (RELO) together with their assistants and coordinators. On the side of Nha Trang University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trang Si Trung - Rector and representatives of the Departments of External Cooperation, Science and Technology, and Faculty of Foreign Languages.
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trang Si Trung expressed his sincere thanks to the US Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam for the support given to Nha Trang University such as: promoting cooperation with US partners, sending experts/ teaching assistants, introducing and granting scholarships to students, and supporting community service projects. The Rector wished to continue to receive supports from the US Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam in connecting and deepening cooperation with US partners in training, scientific research, staff training, and student exchange... Representatives of the US Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam appreciated the achievements that Nha Trang University has got in recent years, and affirmed to review and connect NTU with the US organizations in accordance with the strengths of training, scientific research, and development orientation of the University. It is expected that in the near future, the RELO will suggest the US Embassy to support English language training programs for University staff members, especially in writing scientific reports and international articles, etc.
On this occasion, the delegation of the US Embassy and Consulate in Vietnam held two info sessions about the US government's scholarship programs and preparation steps to study abroad for students, and the effective teaching methods and scholarship programs for lecturers. The delegation also visited and exchanged with Access English students (the English Access Micro scholarship Program is being sponsored by the US Consulate General in Vietnam).
