March 3, 2022: Nha Trang University (NTU) solemnly welcomed and worked with the delegation of Nordic Ambassadors to Vietnam, including Norwegian Ambassador, Swedish Ambassador, Finnish Ambassador and Danish Ambassador to Vietnam.

The delegation of Nordic Ambassadors to Vietnam included Norwegian Ambassador – H.E. Ms. Grete Løchen, Swedish Ambassador – H.E. Ms. Ann Måwe, Ambassador of Finland – H.E. Mr. Keijo Norvanto and Danish Ambassador – H.E. Mr. Kim Højlund Christensen. On the side of Nha Trang University, there was the participation of Dr. Khong Trung Thang – Secretary of the University Communist Party, Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Quach Hoai Nam - Vice Rector, and representatives of leaders of units of Nha Trang University.

In his welcoming speech, Dr. Khong Trung Thang expressed his honor to welcome the delegation of four Nordic Ambassadors to visit and work at NTU. He showed the gratitude of NTU for the cooperation and support from the Nordic countries over the years and presented about the operation situation, vision, development orientation, and international cooperation strategy in the near future. The chairman of the University Council hoped that the Ambassadors will continue to support Nha Trang University to connect and cooperate more deeply with universities, institutes and organizations in Nordic countries, especially in the fields of marine science and technology and fisheries which are NTU’s strength. Nha Trang University wished to become an active partner of Nordic partners in training highly qualified human resources, conducting scientific research and technology transfer in the fields of Blue Economy of Khanh Hoa province, especially marine farming and tourism.

Appreciating the achievements that Nha Trang University has achieved through international cooperation activities and support from Nordic countries, especially support from the Norwegian government, the Ambassadors stated that Nha Trang University is ready to continue to expand cooperation and play an important role in marine economic development activities with partners from the Nordic region. On that basis, the Ambassadors will consider and connect Nha Trang University with potential organizations in Northern Europe which are in accordance with the strengths of training, scientific research and development orientation of NTU. In addition, the Ambassadors appreciated the NTU's proposals on cooperation orientations to become a human resource training center for Southern countries in the fields of strength of the University. The Ambassadors also noted the role of NTU in the relationship between the State - Entrepreneurs - Scientists for the development of a modern marine economic center of Khanh Hoa province.

In the morning of the same day, H.E. Mr. Keijo Norvanto - Finnish Ambassador also visited the Institute for Ship Research and Development - Nha Trang University, to get more information to connect the cooperation between Finnish partners and NTU in this field.

The visit to Nha Trang University was within the framework of the business trip in Khanh Hoa province of the Nordic Ambassadors. The Ambassadors also met and worked with the Chairman of Khanh Hoa People's Committee; visited projects, research programs which are being conducted with the cooperation of Nordic countries in Van Phong Bay, and visited historical site - Ponagar Tower Nha Trang.
