The Opening of the Academic Year 2014-2015 and the cerebration of the 55th Foundation Day will be held on 2nd October at NTU main campus in Nha Trang. The event will mark the official start of the new academic year at NTU.
The event will also remind staff and students to remember the historical timeline of NTU. NTU was established in 1959 in Northern Vietnam as a faculty of Institute of Agriculture and Forestry. In 1976, it moved to Nha Trang and changed its name to University of Fisheries in 1981. In 2006, the University was renamed to Nha Trang University.
After 55 years, NTU has 16 faculties, research institutions and 4 centers for applying research and services. NTU offers 4 doctoral programs, 10 master programs, 29 bachelor programs and 16 programs for associate’s degree. NTU has become a multi-discipline institution and played a key role in training human resources for the South Central Area of Vietnam.
As our vision, NTU will become a multi-disciplined application-oriented university and be recognized among high-ranked universities in Southeast Asia by 2030; ultimately become a research-oriented university.
