On May 7, 2021, Aquaculture journal (SSCI category with IF (2019) = 3,225) accepted to publish an article titled “Aquaculture efficiency and productivity: A comprehensive review and bibliometric analysis” of a group of authors: Kok Fong See, Rabiatul Adawiyah Ibrahima, Kim Huat Goh from Economics Program, School of Distance Education, Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia) and Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts at Lowell (United States). This article has reviewed 85 reputable articles (under the ISI/Scopus list) on the field of efficiency and productivity in aquaculture in the period 1998-2020. Research results have shown that the 10 most influential universities/institutes globally in this field include: University of Stavanger (Norway); University of Hawaii at Manoa (USA); University Putra Malaysia (Malaysia); University of Copenhagen (Denmark); University of Arkansas (USA); Bangladesh Agricultural University (Bangladesh); Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece); Ghent University (Belgium); World Fish Center (Malaysia - Bangladesh) and Nha Trang University (Vietnam). Knowledge of efficiency and productivity analysis has been applied to teaching and research at Nha Trang University since 2010 for international master's programs under the sponsorship of the Government of Norway (NOMA and NORHED projects). Many of graduates of these programs have gone on to do in-depth research on this topic at their doctoral level at many famous institutions around the world. Currently, the knowledge has been applied to teach and research for Vietnamese master's programs of Faculty of Economics (Development Economics and Economic Management programs) and Institute of Aquaculture (Aquaculture program). The presence in the map of the most influential universities/institutes globally for research on aquaculture efficiency and productivity has continued to affirm and strengthen Nha Trang University's position in the world aquaculture industry.
