Nha Trang University Launches Ecotourism Hub
On October 18, 2024, Nha Trang University held a ceremony to inaugurate and officially launch the NTU Ecotourism Hub. This initiative was developed as part of the Ecotourism Hub Creation work package (WP8) under the “Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Ecotourism to Support Sustainable Development in Vietnam and the Philippines” project (ECOViP Project). Located in room A3.301, the startup space aims to provide a platform for students, faculty, businesses, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, discuss, and develop innovative startup projects.
Representatives from the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, various businesses, the University’s Board of Directors, relevant faculties, departments, and centers, and the ECOViP Project Management Board attended the event.
During the ceremony, Dr. Khong Trung Thang, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, and ECOViP Project Coordinator, emphasized the importance of developing a startup space in the context of ecotourism becoming a key sector supporting sustainable development. He also affirmed that the NTU Ecotourism Hub will act as an incubator for innovative student-led projects and as a bridge between the university, businesses, and society.
In his remarks, MSc. Tong Van Toan, Director of the Center for Career Support & Start-up, which directly manages the startup space, shared that the NTU Ecotourism Hub is a crucial part of the university’s strategy to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. He hoped the environment would encourage collaboration, exchange, and the development of innovative startup ideas in ecotourism among students, faculty, and businesses.
After the speeches, attendees had the opportunity to tour the startup space and experience the features of the ecotourism startup website. The NTU Ecotourism Hub promises to be an ideal destination for students passionate about creativity and entrepreneurship in ecotourism, making a positive contribution to the sustainable development goals of the ECOViP project.
