Roundtable on further developing tuna rest raw materials processing
On November 12, 2018, Nha Trang University (NTU) in collaboration with Norwegian Embassy in Hanoi held “Roundtable on further developing tuna rest raw materials processing” with the attendance of Mr. Harald Naevdal - Commercial Counselor, Norwegian Embassy in Hanoi; Mr. Le Van Cuu - Director of Phu Yen Department of Science and Technology; representatives of Khanh Hoa Department of Agricultural and Rural Development, Vietnam Tuna Association together with more than 10 Vietnamese fishery companies and NTU faculty members.

At the seminar, over 60 participants had opportunities to listen to useful and significant presentations about tuna rest raw materials processing. Researchers from NTU contributed two reports: The overview of marine rest raw materials in Vietnam and their applications and Research work on Vietnam tuna rest raw materials. A representative from Vietnam Tuna Association presented Vietnam tuna fisheries seen from a sustainability point of view. Norwegian companies introduced Norwegian technology and research products, as well as potential to develop cooperation with Vietnamese companies in the use of tuna rest raw materials. Besides, participants also discussed how Vietnam can utilize aquatic rest raw materials as well as improve the quality and quantity of aquatic rest raw materials to become an attractive supply partner for international companies. Within the framework of the seminar, delegates visited the facilities for processing rest raw materials of NTU.
