Support VND 8 billion for lecturers and students during the Covid-19 pandemic

Nha Trang University has just announced the support for lecturers and students to implement teaching and learning online during the Covid-19 pandemic, with a total funding of about VND 8 billion.

This activity is implemented to support lecturers and students of the University, especially students in difficult circumstances, so that both lecturers and students of Nha Trang University will unite to overcome the pandemic.

Accordingly, the University will spend VND 1.2 billion to support all students Internet fees for online learning, VND 5 billion to support students in difficult circumstances due to the Covid-19 epidemic, and VND 1.8 billion to support lecturers to prepare online lectures for all levels and training systems of Nha Trang University.

According to the plan, students who are in extremely difficult circumstances will be get free tuition. Students in difficult circumstances such as their families under preferential treatment policies or their families’ income affected by the pandemic will be considered for a reduction from 10-70% of tuition. In addition, the University is also considering plans to support students whose parents pass away due to the pandemic or their families belonging to groups of long-term quarantine, or those whose parents lost their jobs because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, the University is completing the detailed plan to timely support students.

At present, the University is still implementing the support of VND 57,000/student/day for students who are staying in dormitories during the period of social distancing under the Prime Minister's Directive 16. Besides, NTU is applying free dormitories for students who had registered for dormitories but cannot stay there due to the pandemic.
