On July 29, the 11th International Conference in Vietnam on the Development of Biomedical Engineering (BME11) officially opened at the Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh, bringing together over 400 delegates, including scientists, experts, lecturers, doctors, researchers, corporate representatives, and students from Vietnam and various countries around the world.

The 11th International Conference in Vietnam on the Development of Biomedical Engineering (BME11)  officially kicks off in Khanh Hoa, gathering over 400 scientists, experts, lecturers, and delegates from Vietnam and worldwide.

The conference is hosted by the International University – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with Nha Trang University and other partners. BME11 serves as a premier platform for scientists to share research findings, exchange innovative ideas, discuss practical issues, and strengthen collaborative networks in the fields of biomedical engineering and healthcare.

Delivering the welcome remarks at the Opening Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung, Vice President of Nha Trang University, highlighted the university's formidable strengths in marine science, fisheries, biotechnology, food technology, and environmental science, affirming that these disciplines hold significant potential for integration and synergistic cooperation with biomedical engineering.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung, Vice President of Nha Trang University, delivers the welcome remarks at the Opening Ceremony.

According to Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung, the ocean is an abundant source of biological resources. Researching marine organisms can significantly contribute to the development of new pharmaceuticals, biomaterials, healthcare products, and medical technologies. Furthermore, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and other advanced techniques will assist humanity in exploring, exploiting, and utilizing these resources more efficiently and sustainably.

Additionally, Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung also noted that these research directions require close collaboration among multidisciplinary scientists, as well as between universities, research institutes, hospitals, and businesses. Nha Trang University expects BME11 to forge new connections and unlock numerous opportunities for cooperation in education, research, technology transfer, and applied product development between the university and the participating organizations.

Taking place from July 29 to 31, 2026, the conference focuses on key topics such as tissue engineering and regenerative medicine; artificial intelligence and data science in healthcare; biomedical optics and imaging; biomaterials; nanotechnology; medical devices, and technology transfer.

On the final day of the conference, July 31, 2026, plenary sessions, the Closing Ceremony, the award presentation, and a guided tour of the educational and research facilities will be held at Nha Trang University.
