There were the participation of Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Don - Director of Department of Science, Technology, and Environment, Ministry of Education and Training, local authorities’ representatives together with approximately 200 delegates from the member universities of the Science and Technology Club of Technical Universities.
The 56th conference’s title is "Technical Universities and their roles in developing marine science and technology of Khanh Hoa province and South Central Coast region". The conference aimed to strengthen a close-knit relationship between the members of the Science & Technology Club and Khanh Hoa province in particular, the South Central Coast as well as other provinces in the country in general. Moreover, it also is a good chance to boost the cooperation between Nha Trang University and the Science and Technology Club of Technical Universities.
At the 56th Conference of Science and Technology Club of Technical Universities, approximately 80 scientific reports were published, covering six research topics such as Research and Application on Marine Science; Research and Application on Marine Biodiversity and Conservation; Research and Application on Aquaculture & Marine Resources; Research and Application on Marine Bioactive Substances and Technology; Research and Application on Marine Economy, Tourism and Services.
At the plenary session, four important reports on the mentioned topics were presented and discussed by member universities. Besides, Department of Science and Technology of Khanh Hoa province presented a report on research orientation and technology transfer in the period 2021 - 2025, orientation to 2030. Nha Trang University had a report on "Developing human resources for tourism in Khanh Hoa province in the context of international integration".
At the conference, Dr. Quach Hoai Nam - Vice-Rector of Nha Trang University stated that taking turn to organize an annual conference by member universities will create a good opportunity for scientists of the Club to access science and technology issues of provinces. Since then, they will connect, discuss and propose feasible scientific tasks to meet local socio-economic development needs. As the host of the 56th Conference, Nha Trang University was honored to create a bridge for members of the Club to together solve science and technology matters in Khanh Hoa province in particular and the South Central Coast provinces in general.
On this occasion, an exhibition was held to share research achievements and technology transfer for developing the marine economy of Nha Trang University. Besides, a field trip to Institute for Ship Research and Development of NTU was held for participants.
The Science and Technology Club of Technical Universities was established in 1992. By December 2020, there have been 26 member universities and institutes nationwide. Its main objectives are (1) to strengthen cooperation between technical universities in science and technology activities and (2) to explore the potential of each member on training and research, contributing to the industrialization and modernization of the country.
