From July 22 to July 26, 2024, the group of students who won the first prize of the ECOViP 2024 Ecotourism Startup Competition of Nha Trang University immersed themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the Ecovip Summer Camp in Batangas, Philippines. The program is an important part of the ECOViP project, with the goal of "Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of ecotourism to support sustainable development in Vietnam and the Philippines".
The summer camp featured teams from Vietnam and the Philippines, along with experts from various countries. The main theme of the program focused on developing innovation in ecotourism and contributing to creating creative solutions for the tourism industry.
The teams were equipped with practical knowledge and skills, including: marketing effectiveness analysis, customer touchpoint analysis, and a better understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through practical activities, the students gained a deeper insight into ecotourism and grasped the international community's commitments towards a sustainable future. In addition to learning, the ECOViP Summer Camp 2024 also provided a great opportunity for the teams to find solutions to existing environmental and social challenges. Not only students but also lecturers from Nha Trang University contributed their expertise and experience to support the training of the teams. Specifically, lecturer Nguyen Thanh Quang (Faculty of Tourism) participated in training and coaching the teams on the topic "Touchpoints in eco-tourism". Through the lecture, students were further strengthened in their knowledge of ecotourism, the points that create positive experiences in the process of doing ecotourism business to attract more tourists to the projects.
The summer camp is not only a place to impart knowledge but also creates a dynamic environment where students are free to explore, have fun and learn from each other. During the summer camp, the teams had the opportunity to participate in exciting extracurricular activities such as: Celebrating the 55th anniversary of the founding of Batangas City, participating in exchanges organized by the Project and visiting famous eco-tourism destinations in Batangas, Philippines.
