International workshop on Gobies in the Indo-Pacific, Mediterranean, and Red Book Review takes place at Nha Trang University
From March 18, 2024 - March 22, 2024, the International Conference on Gobies in the Indo-Pacific and Mediterranean and Red Book Review was held at Nha Trang University.
The conference was jointly organized by Nha Trang University and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Old Dominion University - USA (ODU), sponsored by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The activity was organized within the framework of cooperation between Nha Trang University and Old Dominion University - USA. The conference attracted the participation of nearly 100 experts, researchers, lecturers, and students from many countries around the world.
At the conference, experts, researchers, lecturers, and students heard and shared about key terms and concepts of the red book; criteria list, and principles for evaluating red books; Introduced research results and assessments on the type of goby, research directions, and classification of this fish... Through sightseeing trips and field research, workshop participants were also guided to practice red book assessment principles, and learn to get more information about local biodiversity...
Designed to enhance exchanges between participants, the conference provided a space for experts and researchers to exchange and share experiences and provide and supplement theoretical and practical information on how to evaluate the red list and sea goby.
