At the forum, the delegation had the honour to attend the policy speech delivered by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam. Addressing the audience of professors, lecturers and students, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam underlined that Viet Nam always regards the development of relations with China as a strategic choice and a top priority. The Party and State leader stressed that science, technology and innovation must become a “new pillar” of bilateral ties, and called on universities to step up exchanges of students, scholars and to establish joint research groups in such key areas as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, green technology and green agriculture.

Within the framework of the event, 17 Vietnamese higher education institutions and 19 Chinese institutions signed a total of 35 cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding, covering a wide range of areas including human resource training, joint scientific research, and faculty and student exchanges. This marked a new milestone in higher education cooperation between the two countries.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Nha Trang University and China Agricultural University (CAU) was among the key documents signed at the forum.

Through this MoU on training and scientific research, Nha Trang University officially established cooperative relations with China Agricultural University (CAU), as part of a strategic step to concretise development goals in areas where the two universities share complementary strengths. In addition to the official signing ceremony, the Nha Trang University leadership also held direct meetings and discussions with several Chinese partners to expand its cooperation network and promote academic exchanges.

As part of the forum’s programme, the delegation visited the campus of Tsinghua University - one of China’s and the world’s leading institutions for education, research and innovation, and a major hub of knowledge with strong influence across Asia and globally, especially in science, engineering, digital technology and artificial intelligence. During the visit, the delegation learned about Tsinghua’s educational environment, its development history and the university’s motto “Self-discipline and Social Commitment”, values that have helped build Tsinghua’s prestigious brand. The visit provided practical insights into the model of a world-class university and offered inspiration for future directions in developing educational spaces at Nha Trang University.
