On September 29th, 2025, Nha Trang University held a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony with the Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Technology Center (SSTC) of the Russian Federation. The ceremony marked a significant milestone, laying the groundwork for comprehensive cooperation in marine engineering and offshore structures.

Attending the ceremony on behalf of SSTC were Mr. Aleksandrov Mikhail, General Director; Mr. Kuzmin Denis, Deputy General Director; Mr. Solntcev Nikolai, Chief Engineer and Deputy General Director; Mr. Voronov Vyacheslav, Director of External Relation; Mr. Yakshin Vladimir, Head of the Representative Office in Hanoi, and Mr. Pham Xuan Nhat, Advisor and Interpreter for SSTC. Representing NTU were Prof.Dr. Pham Quoc Hung, Vice Rector, accompanied by leaders from Department of International Cooperation, Department of Science and Technology, Institute of Ship Research and Development and Faculty of Transportation Engineering.
Under the memorandum, both parties will implement a broad spectrum of collaborative initiatives, including the exchange of staff, lecturers, and students; joint scientific research in shipbuilding and ship repair; technology transfer, particularly in composite material applications for ship construction; professional capacity enhancement for lecturers; as well as the co-organization of seminars, symposiums, and joint training programs for students.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof.Dr. Pham Quoc Hung, Vice Rector of NTU, emphasized that international collaboration has always been a cornerstone strategy in the University’s pursuit of excellence in education and scientific research. The agreement with SSTC not only opens new avenues for access to advanced technologies but also creates opportunities for lecturers and students to participate in international academic and research programs. This partnership further consolidates NTU’s reputation and global standing in the fields of marine engineering and offshore technology.
