On the morning of September 24, 2026, the School of Engineering and Technology–Nha Trang University held its International Students Welcome and Research Day 2026 at Hall 1, under the theme “Welcome – Connect – Explore – Create”. The event brought together domestic and international students and provided a platform for them to present their research products to delegates, lecturers, and researchers.
Connecting international students with NTU
The program opened with welcome performances by the University’s Youth Union, followed by remarks from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Vu, Vice Rector of the School of Engineering and Technology, and a sharing session with international student representatives. The event gave international students studying or undertaking exchange programs at the School an opportunity to meet university leaders and lecturers and to become more integrated into the academic environment at Nha Trang University.
Attendees included Dr. Nguyen Thang Xiem, Vice Rector of the School of Engineering and Technology; leaders of the School’s six specialized faculties; Mr. Welf Graf von Luxburg-Marten, an expert from Ostfalia University in Germany; and more than 30 international students from France, Laos, and Vanuatu.
A platform for student research
At the self-study area adjacent to Hall 1, 15 student research projects conducted between September 2025 and September 2026 were showcased through products and posters. The projects covered research areas across all six faculties of the School.
Adding an international dimension to the event, a group of French interns presented seven research topics under the guidance of the School’s lecturers. Their work ranged from friction stir welding, biodiesel engines, and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems to the design of high-speed vessel hulls using recycled fishing-net materials. Faculty experts engaged directly with the student researchers to discuss and evaluate their work.
Vietnam–international student exchange
The event concluded with a lively networking session organized by the Youth Union. Mini-games about Nha Trang University, the School of Engineering and Technology, Nha Trang, and Vietnam encouraged students to connect and share their experiences.
Closing a journey of connection
At the close of the networking session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Vu, Vice Rector, announced the results of the 2026 evaluation of student research products and delivered the closing remarks. More than a welcome event for international students, the program reflected the School of Engineering and Technology’s strategic orientation: integrating education with research, deepening international engagement, and fostering a dynamic, globally connected academic environment.
