Working with the representative of the United Nations Development Program
On January 11. 2024, Nha Trang University welcomed and worked with the representative of the United Nations Development Program.
In the meeting, there was the participation of Mrs Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, the National Coordinator of The Small Grants Program, Global Environment Facility, United Nations Development Program (UNDP/GEF/SGP). On the side of Nha Trang University (NTU), Asso. Prof. Pham Quoc Hung, Vice Director of the University, and representatives of other related units attended.
At the meeting, the representative of the university introduced basic information about operation fields, especially in the field of international cooperation. The representatives from the university and the United Nations Development Program exchanged information, connected the projects and activities supported by UNDP/GEF/SGP funding and emphasized the projects in Khanh Hoa province. Currently, UNDP/GEF/SGP funding is sponsoring 175 projects in 45 provinces throughout the country. The UNDP representative expressed her hope to collaborate with universities in Vietnam, especially Nha Trang University, to jointly design exchange and learning programs for the university's lecturers and students as part of these projects. The educational programs and projects will be focused on main topics like community-based biodiversity conservation, solutions for sustainable cities, the promotion of plastic/solid waste management and circular economy, and community-based climate change adaptation. These activities aim to spread knowledge within the community, enhancing public awareness of sustainable development.
Both sides will continue researching and discussing to promote collaborative activities in the future.
