There were the participation of 28 Lao students and one Ugandan student currently studying at Nha Trang University. At the opening ceremony of the contest, Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngan – In charge of the External Cooperation Department shared the meaningful story of banh chung in the cultural life of the Vietnamese people. International students received the beautiful wishes on the occasion of New Year from Dr. Tran Doan Hung – Vice Rector of the University.

After being meticulously guided about the stages of making and how to wrap Banh chung, the students were divided into three groups and together performed the steps to create a complete cake such as cutting leaves, folding leaves, and wrapping the cake, etc. The contest took place in a lively and excited atmosphere, helping international students have the opportunity to understand more about Vietnamese culture and people. The contest was held with the University’s concern for international students, wishing to give international students a good impression of the traditional Tet atmosphere of Vietnam, creating a joyful atmosphere to welcome the New Year, and helping students have more motivation to study better.
