Working with representatives of World Learning (USA)
On August 18, 2022, Nha Trang University had a meeting and worked with representatives of World Learning (USA) to prepare for the organization of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) program.
Attending the meeting were Mr. Vladimir Spencer - Director of World Learning Organization; Ms. Anna Tadevosyan – expert of World Learning Organization; Ms. Le Thi Kim Muon - Culture - Education Advisor, Consulate General of the United States. On the side of Nha Trang University, there were the attendance of Dr. Tran Doan Hung – Vice Rector of the University and representatives of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the International Cooperation Department.
At the meeting, representatives of Nha Trang University and representatives of World Learning discussed the organization of the regional conference program YSEALI 2022 with the theme "Ocean warriors". This activity is expected to take place in early December 2022 at Nha Trang University, attracting the participation of more than 100 young people from Southeast Asian countries. Nha Trang University and World Learning will coordinate to organize soft skills training sessions, bring presentations from experts, and discuss real-life situations; organize a field visit to learn about Vietnam's efforts to protect the coastal environment and environmental issues; activities related to the development of video games… The program also has the participation of environmentalists and game developers across Southeast Asia, aiming to innovate and develop solutions to solve the problem of marine environmental degradation through game design and production.
Announced in 2013, the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is the U.S. government's flagship program to strengthen leadership development and network in Southeast Asia. Through a series of programs, including American cultural and educational exchanges, regional exchanges, and endowments, YSEALI aims to build leadership capacity among youth in the region, strengthening relationships between the United States and Southeast Asia and fostering an ASEAN community. YSEALI focuses on essential topics of interest to young people in the area such as Positive citizenship, environment, natural resource management, entrepreneurship, and economic development.
