On 2 February 2026, Nha Trang University hosted the 2026 International Symposium on Power Electronics and Applications - The Vietnam-Korea Symposium on Power Electronics - The 2026 Spring Workshop on Power Electronics and Applications (VKSPE 2026 - SWPEA), which attracted strong interest from numerous scientists and experts from both within Viet Nam and abroad.
Representing Nha Trang University at the symposium were Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung, Vice President of the University, along with leaders of relevant units, academic departments, lecturers, and students. The symposium also welcomed many scientists from universities, research institutes, and scientific organizations in Viet Nam, Korea, and several other countries, contributing to the creation of a deep and high quality international academic forum.

VKSPE 2026 - SWPEA was organized by Nha Trang University in coordination with the Korea Institute of Power Electronics in Viet Nam (KIPE VN), the Vietnam Power Electronics Community (VPEC), and universities and research institutes in Viet Nam and abroad. The three day symposium took place from 1 to 3 February 2026 at Nha Trang University.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung, Vice President of Nha Trang University, delivered the opening remarks.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung emphasized the role of the symposium in connecting scientists, promoting academic exchange, and updating the latest research results in the field of power electronics and related areas. At the same time, this is an important opportunity to strengthen research and training cooperation among universities, research institutes, and enterprises of Viet Nam and Korea, thereby contributing to improving the quality of human resources in science and technology in the context of digital transformation and sustainable development.
The symposium focused on in depth topics such as power electronics and applications; power systems and renewable energy; smart grids; electrical machines and electric drives; the Internet of Things (IoT); artificial intelligence (AI); and electric powered transportation engineering. The scientific papers presented at the symposium reflected new research trends with high applicability and generated lively discussion and exchanges among participants.


Scientists and experts from Viet Nam and other countries presented and discussed their research findings throughout the symposium.
Through the organization of VKSPE 2026 - SWPEA, Nha Trang University continues to affirm its role as a prestigious center for training, research, and international cooperation in engineering and technology, while gradually realizing the University’s strategy for development and international integration in the new period.
