The ILP Board of Directors Annual Conference is organized alternately in participating member countries. This is the second time Nha Trang University has hosted this conference. Hosting the annual conference of the ILP Board of Directors contributes to improving the capacity of international cooperation in postgraduate training and the rank of Nha Trang University in fisheries and marine science.

          At this conference, the participating delegates discussed, exchanged and agreed on the following topics: revision of the course categories and additional textbooks of new courses; approval of the qualifications of lecturers to be added to the program's teaching staff until 2024; current status of ILP students and evaluation of activities in 2023; activity plans for 2024…

           The ILP was established based on the mutual recognition and credit exchange in master’s degree programs in the aquaculture field among participating universities. As of today, 174 master’s students from ILP participating countries have engaged in study and credit transfer among schools. This program provides students specializing in aquaculture with the opportunity to access some courses taught by scientists and highly qualified lecturers. They can also participate in practical activities and experiments using state-of-the-art technology, which is one of each school's strengths. In addition, students who participate in this program also get a chance to exchange cultures and experience the study and research life in the host country for a period of one to two months. This program brings international linkages in postgraduate education; sharing knowledge, techniques, and technologies to train high-quality human resources, preparing themselves to integrate internationally and regionally; and contributing to the sustainable development of the aquaculture field in particular and marine science in general.

           The ILP was initiated in 2013 and currently has 8 members, including the Faculty of Fisheries, Kagoshima University (Japan), the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Sam Ratulangi University (Indonesia); the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, IPB University (Indonesia); the Faculty of Fisheries and Food Science, Malaysia Terengganu University (Malaysia); the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, Philippines Visayas University (Philippines); the Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University (Thailand); the College of Life Sciences, National Chiayi University (Taiwan) and Nha Trang University.
